Vrijheid Kennel is a collaberation between Asheley Winters and Josh McCleary, with 11 years of experience specifically working Dutch Shepherds.  The dogs are our passion, and I spend all my free time working with and learning about dogs.   We previously competed in Schutzhund, switching to French Ring Sport currently.  We also dabble in other protection sports, herding, conformation, and anything else the dogs enjoy!

Breeding is done on a limited basis to produce healthy, strong and driven dogs for work and sport.  We do not breed untitled or unproven dogs.  We do not breed dogs with health problems, however minor.  As a veterinarian I strongly believe in thorough health screening to reduce the incidence of genetic disease.

I truly believe that in order to produce exceptional dogs only the best 1 percent of dogs should be bred and I abide by that, however difficult it might be.  Pedigree is only part of the story, the rest is in results.  I do not need to produce dogs to make a living and will not compromise my principles to do so.

We always welcome any questions about Dutch Shepherds or our dogs.

Asheley Winters DVM
